Depart on a short ride along the beach before you reach the rain forest, where you can observe the lush tropical vegetation of the area. Your first stop is Sugar Bay, where Columbus landed in 1493, and then it's on to Christiansted where you will have approximately 1 hour for shopping and sightseeing. You will then continue on to the Cruzan Rum distillery where and be given a mini-tour through the distillery, enjoy a slide show presentation a rum drink of the day. Your next stop is the Whim Great house, an old plantation estate that has been converted into a museum of local artifacts. Note: Many of the buses are not air-conditioned, all entry fees and transportation included.

Begin at the Frederiksted pier, where your guides will walk you to the bike shop a 1/2 block from the pier for a short orientation as well as outfitting the group with bikes and safety gear. Your guides lead you through town, stopping at various architectural and historical sites. The political, cultural and natural history of St. Croix will be discussed as you Proceed along the western coast, passing by numerous ruins and points of historical significance as well as tropical forests and rolling grasslands. The tour will proceed to the Hamos Bay area approximately five miles up the coast, where you will reverse course and return to Frederiksted. Three rest stops are scheduled, one being at Sprat Hall, a restored 1670 great house currently run as a bed and breakfast. Water will be provided. Note: The biking portion is 12 miles, participants are expected to be in relatively good physical condition, minimum age: 13 years.

A hike at this 225-acre preserve is a fun and informative experience for nature and history buffs alike. Your walk starts at the Butler Bay Nature Preserve with more than 30 different species of birds to be observed. The walk, which follows a dirt road, continues up a gradual incline to the Estate Mt. Washington plantation. The ruins of this estate were buried in the rain forest and were only discovered in 1984, at which time careful restoration began. Explore the ruins as you follow the graded trail that winds up the mountain on a steep climb to a panoramic view of Frederiksted harbor and beautiful Sandy Point beach. The trail continues downhill through Estate Butler Bay, where the hike ends. Your guide will share with you folklore of the island, point out medicinal "bush tea" plants, let you sample edible berries and sniff bay rum leaves, and take you back to the era of sugar cane production. This is a moderate hike, however, there is one steep hill which is quite strenuous. The hike lasts approximately two hours; drinking water is provided. Note: Comfortable shoes are recommended (sneakers, hiking boots, etc.) Minimum age 10 years. Approximately 2 hours

Discover the natural beauty and history of the largest of the US Virgin Islands! After a short drive, you will be taken to the Lawaetz Family Museum at Little La Grange. Located adjacent to the Rain Forest, this historical Danish West Indian plantation dwelling and its garden give a fascinating glimpse into the early 20th century life of a prominent local family of Danish ancestry. Your guide will bring history to life as you walk the grounds and visit the house. A scenic drive through the Rain Forest then takes you to the St. George's Botanical Garden. You will have 45 minutes to stroll through this 17-acre park that was built over a pre-Colombian Indian settlement and the ruins of a 19th century sugar plantation. Your guide will point out the many species of colorful exotic tropical plants and speak about the ruins found on the property. The relaxing return ride along Centerline Road will take you back to the ship. Approximately 3 - 3 ½ hours

Visit the only underwater National Monument in the United States! Buck Island is one of the most popular snorkeling areas in the Caribbean and is carefully protected by the National Park Service. Your adventure begins with a drive to Christiansted where you board a powerboat for a scenic 30-minute cruise to Buck Island. You will snorkel directly off the boat and an instructor will accompany you while you explore the sea and familiarize yourself with the friendly and colorful tropical fish. Enjoy the variety of coral gardens and marine life found at world-famous Buck Island. After an hour of snorkeling and discovery at Buck Island, enjoy complimentary sodas and water as the boat makes the relaxing return to Christiansted where transportation is waiting to take you to your ship.
