La Paz means "peace" in Spanish, and that's exactly what you'll feel when visiting this provincial Mexican town. Reminiscent of Los Cabos, La Paz has wonderful beach spots and an easygoing, slow-paced atmosphere that makes relaxation easy. The palm-fringed malecon that fronts the town center is a lively spot, and there are countless opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, diving and fishing in the surrounding areas.
- El Serpentario Reptile Center & Cactus Nursery Tour: Find an outstanding collection of reptiles at the El Serpentario Reptile Center. Take a short bus ride to Balandra Beach where you will be assigned a kayak and be given a short instructional briefing on use and technique. Travel aboard traditional two-person sit on top ocean kayaks and discover one of the Sea of Cortez' hidden treasures. Paddle through the tranquil crystal clear waters, the depth at times will be less than a foot, discovering pristine white sand beaches and hidden coves. Your guide will lead you into Paradise Cove with an abundance of local bird and marine life from herons to pelicans and frigate birds. Encounter a world you might not see anywhere else as you paddle your kayak deep into the natural mangrove forests. Return to the beach area and be provided a short amount of time to relax or explore the shoreline.

- Ecological Snorkel Tour: On this fascinating ecological snorkel adventure, you will experience two different snorkel sites while enjoying the wonders of Pacific Mexico's waters. You will first arrive at Santa Maria Bay to snorkel in the crystal clear waters of this protected State Park enjoying the rich abundance of marine life featuring over 50 different species of exotic fish. If you wish, you can lay out on the beautiful white sandy beach soaking up the sun and appreciating the area's abundant beauty as you wait to board the boat for a short ride to Chileno bay for another snorkel expedition. After leaving the Bay, you will head out of the Sea of Cortez and back to the pier.
- Beach Horseback Adventure: Admire breathtaking views of beautiful Cabo San Lucas Bay and the famous rock formations of Land's End while enjoying a peaceful horseback ride on one of the world's most beautiful white sand beaches. A short bus ride takes you to the stables on the beach and after a short orientation, your guide will lead you along the pristine cactus lined waters of the Sea of Cortes. After your leisurely 1-hour ride, you will be taken to the Tabasco Beach Club where you will be served a complimentary drink and have the run of the beach for an hour and a half before heading back to the tender pier & your ship.
- Whale Watching & Coastal Cruise: A spectacular experience awaits you on board the luxurious Kaleidoscope, a 100- foot state of the art Catamaran. Enjoy a delightful 2-hour coastal cruise, viewing breathtaking landscapes, unspoiled beaches and spectacular resorts, as you cruise along both the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean. Between the Months of December & March the whale watching season is at it's peak where these waters are visited by thousands of whales, nearly six different types of whales can be seen swimming around the Gulf! The Kaleidoscope has it's own state of the art underwater hydrophone which allows you to experience the mythic singing of the whales while you observe them and take pictures! Your experienced Captain will narrate and point out the highlights as you visit the famous Los Arcos area, which is at the tip of one of the most beautiful Peninsula's in the world. - La Bufadora Adventure Tour: Enjoy a brief presentation from your guide regarding the past and present history of the area as you make your way to Punta Banda. Along the way you will have a close up look at stops including picturesque Plaza Civica to view the magnificent statues of Mexico greatest heroes, and the elegant Riviera Del Pacifico, once part of a glamorous beach resort and casino. The highlight of the tour is the drive 25 miles south along the Baja California countryside to the scenic Punta Banda area with the spectacular blowhole called "La Bufadora". Finally you will visit Ensenada's main shopping district and its many shops offering everything from Mexican handicrafts to imported merchandise, or you can return to the ship. Approximately 4 hours.
- Blow Hole Tour: You will start with a brief look at Ensenada's Plaza Civica where 12-foot high busts of noted Mexican heroes sit in a pleasantly landscaped area. Then the adventure starts as you travel 25 miles along the Baja California countryside to La Bufadora. The blowhole is a natural sea spout that shoots sea spray high into the air. The tour stops at the La Bufadora for approximately 35 minutes for sightseeing. Approximately 2 ½ hours.
- Wine Country Tour: Located just a few miles northeast of Ensenada, about 2000 ft. Above sea level, lies Calafia Valley, the home grounds of wineries Domecq and La Cetto. This remote region of the Baja Peninsula is widely recognized as the best suited area in all of Mexico for growing the best varieties of grapes for the production of high quality wines. Casa Pedro Domecq has been a pioneer in the development of wine making in Mexico for three centuries and is respected for its expertise in the production of Sherries, Brandy and wines. Your guide will relate the history of Ensenada and the Baja area route and tell you about local customs and traditions. Upon arrival you will be met by guides who will provide a 30 minute tour of the winery, where Domecq wines are processed from crushed grapes, through fermentation, pressing, aging and bottling. After the tour you will have the opportunity to taste selected wines, served with assorted cheeses and biscuits, you may also purchase these wines at considerable savings. Finally, you'll visit Ensenada's main shopping district and its many shops offering everything from Mexican handicrafts to imported merchandise, or you can return to the ship. Approximately 4 hours.
