- Along the way, the captain helps spot marine life such as whales, seals, sea otters, and sea birds.
- Arriving at Kruzof Island, you will gear-up and climb aboard your two-person Yamaha Rhino 4x4 off-road vehicle.
- After a brief safety orientation and vehicle operation instructions, the guides will lead your group on an exhilarating ride through Southeast Alaska’s lush temperate rain forest.
- The first stop will be at Iris Meadows estuary. The meadow is full of Alaska’s beautiful vegetation and wild flowers, and a great place to look for Alaskan Brown Bears and Sitka Black Tail Deer, both common to the area.
- Drivers will have the chance to switch positions and the tour will continue on to North Beach.
- This part of the drive will pass through an old growth forest and out on to a beautiful black sand beach.

On this excursion you will: - At the center, learn how its volunteers help wild birds from capture to rehabilitative care and hopeful release.
- Upon leaving the center, your guide will provide a narrative recap of life in Sitka when it served as the capital of Russian America, as well as life in Sitka today.
- Make a short drive along the highway bordering Sitka Sound to view historical sites such as the Russian Cemetery and the blockhouse.
