Your tour will give you the opportunity to see where the famous Croatian oysters come from. You will start with a pleasant bus ride along the beautiful Adriatic coastline. Your first stop will be made in the small, charming village of Orasac. In Orasac you will have the opportunity to take part in the production of olive oil in the old fashioned way. The mill is even powered by a horse. This trip through time will certainly delight you. Here you will also have the opportunity to taste some home made cheese, smoked ham and wine in the setting of a very old house which has not changed much through the ages.
After your visit to the village of Orasac Village you will continue towards the small town of Ston which is the "oyster capital" of Croatia. This little town is often called a smaller copy of Dubrovnik. Especially interesting are the magnificent walls surrounding the town. They are 3 miles long and the construction started in 1317. They were finished in the 16th century. It is one of the longest defensive walls in the world. Interesting are also the ancient salt pans that were in use during the Dubrovnik Republic. Salt is still produced here.
After visiting Ston you will go to the small town of Mali Ston where you will have the chance to taste some more sea food - a light lunch consisting of two different risottos and sea food pasta. Your lunch will be accompanied by good local wine. After lunch in Mali Ston you will continue your trip to the small village of Ponikve where you will visit one of the best known wine cellars of this region - the cellar of the family Milos where you can enjoy the famous wines, both red and white, of the "Peljesac" peninsula. A beautiful drive along the Adriatic coast will take you back to the ship.
