	Brimstone Fortress and Gardens

Explore a 300 year old Fortress, perched on a 40 acre hill top 780 feet above sea level. The first canons were mounted on Brimstone Hill in 1690 as the English and French fought for control of the island. The next 200 years saw the construction of an amazing work of architectural and engineering genius. This magnificent structure is the second largest of its type in the Western Hemisphere. Its spectacular panoramic views include coastline, countryside and neighboring islands. The Brimstone Hill Fortress is known as the Gibraltar of the West Indies. Next is a visit to Romney Gardens and the Caribelle Batik Studios. This 10-acre Garden setting is a delight and an inspiration to the local artists. The local artisans produce the fabric and apparel for which Caribelle Batik has become widely known. Please note that there are steep inclines and many steps to negotiate to reach the top of the Brimstone Hill Fortress. Only persons in good physical health should attempt to climb to the very top.

	Rain Forest and Gardens

Visit the picturesque Romney Gardens at Wingfield Estate, This 10-acre setting is also the site for the Caribelle Batik Studios. During this brief stop, you will find time to enjoy the stunning, manicured grounds as well as take a brief studio tour and orientation. Continue the tour into the lush tropical rain forest for a nature walk. Meander along a flat, looped trail deep into the diversely rich forest. See and hear the many forms of animal and plant life that abound in this lush forest setting as you hike along the trail. Fresh fruit juices, fruits in season, water and pastries are offered during the tour. Sensible walking shoes are recommended.

	Mountain Biking

Caribbean cruises Experience the thrill of mountain biking on the rolling slopes of St. Kitts combined with a refreshing swim at Friar's Bay. After a safety briefing, you will be fitted with a mountain bike and safety helmet before setting out. Your tour will commence at the pier and proceed through the streets of historical Basseterre, the island's capital. Once on the outskirts of town, you'll venture off the beaten path winding your way through sugar cane fields before arriving at the base of Olivees Mountain, 1500 feet above sea level. Experience breathtaking views of the Southeastern Peninsula Mountain Range and the sister island of Nevis while relaxing with local refreshments. The bike portion of your tour resumes as you decend, making your way down the rolling hills before reaching the main road for a scenic ride to Friar's Bay. There you will have time to swim and enjoy a light snack before reboarding your bike for the return ride to the ship. Bike, safety gear, complimentary beverages and snack included.

	Catamaran Fan-Ta-Sea

After a short but invigorating sail, this adventure stops at a protected cliff- side cove for snorkeling. After receiving your snorkeling orientation and fitting of the equipment, youll be in the water viewing the colorful tropical fish and beautiful coral formations that are nestled in the calm, crystal clear Caribbean Sea. Your trip continues across the Narrows, a two-mile channel that separates St. Kitts from the sister island of Nevis. Arriving off Pinneys Beach, you are absorbed into an idyllic picture postcard fantasy as you approach this 3 mile long beach that is framed with majestic coconut trees. A delicious native barbecue will be served. Swim, snorkel, beach-comb, or relax and enjoy some fun in the sun on this island paradise. Your tour climaxes with a leisurely afternoon sail back to the ship.

	Nature Kayaking

Caribbean cruises Enroute to the White House Bay kayak site you will drive across the scenic mountain range, viewing the Atlantic Ocean on the North and the Caribbean Sea on the South. After the safety briefing and kayak orientation, you will don your life vest. Board your ocean kayak and begin your paddle along the rugged and unspoiled coastline passing secluded coves, cliffs and caves before arriving at a snorkel site. A mask and snorkel are provided so you can experience the beautiful coral formations and colorful fish of the aquatic world. With the relaxing trade winds behind you, kayak along to pristine, sandy Friars Bay, where refreshments are served prior to your return drive to the ship.
