San Juan, Puerto Rico
    With a frenzied "carnival," local hot sauces available by the gallon and the 127- acre Bacardi distillery that stands out like a giant pink thumb, San Juan proves to be a place for the thrill-seeker. History buffs will love the various museums and even El Morro, a six-level fort with 140-foot walls. Whatever your fancy, the whole city is a must-see.

Kayaking the Espiritu Santo River

After a 45-minute-bus transfer, you arrive at Espiritu Santo river and Fisherman Village where your kayak adventure begins. Once at the village, your experienced guide will give a kayak demonstration and safety briefing before issuing each guest a flotation vest. As you set out on the Espiriyi River, your guide will explain the various type mangroves and vegetation as well as the many varieties of wildlife found in this area. Your tour will conclude at Coco beach where guests can relax and view the EL Yunque rainforest while enjoying complementary refreshments. Sun block, sunglasses, hat and a change of clothes are recommended.


Old and New City Drive

On completion of customs formalities, you will be met in front of the pier by your tour representative. The tour will start by a drive through the new section of the city, where you will see various points of interest. Traveling back towards the Old City, passing by the Capitol building, a stop is made at the historic fortress of San Cristobal. Here you have the opportunity to alight from the bus and explore the old fort at your leisure. This is an unaccompanied visit and guests should be aware that the walk into the fort includes a steep gradient. After your visit to San Cristobal, an approximately thirty minute stop is made in the Old City, for shopping at a local jewelry store, or browsing on your own. The bus driver will act as your guide and for those participants finally disembarking, this tour terminates at the airport.


Juan Carlos and the Rumba Show

A local nightspot is the setting for an evening of exciting Latin rhythm. Born in Barcelona, Juan Carlos has performed all over the world with his show, which features a troupe of beautiful female dancers. Listen to the beat of Mambo, Rumba, Samba, and Conga, as the dancers interpret the music into thrilling steps, whilst Juan Carlos himself will amaze you with his dexterity on the guitar. Listen to the songs he brings alive from Chile, Bolivia, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, as well as his native Spain. Come and enjoy the spirit of Latin America as expressed in its most vibrant music. The tour includes round-trip transportation and one complimentary drink during the one-hour show. From time to time the production of the show may change.


Mountain Biking Through the Pinones Reserve

Depart the pier for a brief drive to the Boca de Cangrejos bridge. On arrival you will be met by a knowledgeable guide who will issue safety gear bikes and gives a safety orientation. The scenic ride is relatively easy along a boardwalk next to the ocean. The views of the Piones Marshlands are reputed to be some of the best on the island. Experience the natural beauty of this part of the island, whilst on a leisurely bike ride. The trip is approximately eight-miles long over relatively flat terrain and along mangrove trails. At the end of the ride, guests will have time for a brief swim before returning to the pier. Bottled water is supplied. Sunscreen, hat is recommended. Closed toed shoes are required.


City Tour and Bacardi Rum Distillery

This tour takes you for a visit to view the massive ancient fortresses and the great stone walls that have protected the capital since the conquistadors built it in the 16th Century. A stop is made at the San Cristobal Fortress and here you have the opportunity to alight from the bus and explore the old fort at your leisure. This is an unaccompanied visit and guests should be aware that the walk into the fort includes a steep gradient. During the drive through the old city, you will see many restored buildings that give Old San Juan its Spanish colonial flavor. Afterwards, the tour continues to the world famous Bacardi Rum Distillery, where you can see the process and learn the history of rum distilling. Also included is a ride on the mini trolley through Bacardis huge grounds, enjoying a beautiful view of San Juan Bay. During the stay at the distillery there is time allotted for souvenir shopping and a complimentary rum drink is offered. Please be aware that you may have a short wait before the tour of the distillery starts. The tour will continue with a drive through the Condado and Isla Verde areas, where you can see the modern part of San Juan. For those participants finally disembarking, this tour terminates at the airport. Disembarkation Tour: Guests must have flights out of San Juan after 4:30 p.m.


El Yunque Rain Forest

After completion of customs formalities, this tour will start with a drive along the north coastal plain to the east central part of Puerto Rico and the picturesque village of Palmer. Your tour will then proceed up a steep mountain highway to see a tree nursery and experimental station, before entering the U.S. National Caribbean Forest. Here, you will see beautiful cascades and waterfalls, a profusion of jungle- like tropical vegetation, coffee growing wild and ferns of all varieties, many of which are some 30 feet high. You may wish to climb the observation tower for a panoramic view or you may prefer to see it from one of the many stops provided along the road. There are many varieties of trees, including exotic hardwoods such as mahogany, teak and ausuba. For those participants finally disembarking, this tour terminates at the airport. Note to guests taking this tour at the end of their cruise vacation: This tour is only available to guests with flights departing from San Juan at 6:00 pm or later. Guests' final destination must be in the U.S. The tour will conclude at the airport. For in-transit sailings to San Juan this tour will terminate at the vessel.
