The Lowe River through Keystone Canyon provides one of Alaska's most thrilling and spectacular river trips, offering scenery and white-water excitement. The river flows through a deep canyon, with sheer cliff walls and waterfalls cascading down its sides. After leaving the dock it is a sixteen mile drive up the Lowe River Valley to your starting point, one mile above Keystone Canyon. During your one hour rafting adventure you will travel approximately 4.5 miles through a gap in the Chugach Mountains, past Bridal Veil Falls which cascade 900 feet down from the canyon wall. Wear clothes that will keep you warm for the outside temperature of the day. You will be provided with rain gear, a life jacket, rubber boots, professional rafting equipment and an experienced guide. You may wish to bring gloves and an extra pair of socks for after the trip.

A short drive from the ship brings you to the beach in Valdez where you will be given all necessary instructions and equipment for your kayak adventure. After boarding your double or triple person kayak, begin your paddle out of the small boat harbor toward the protected waters of Duck Flats. The route will follow a chain of small islands recognized for their nesting birds and sunbathing seals. Paddling past your cruise ship gives a whole new perspective on how large the vessel is when you are sitting on the water. A paddle around Duck Flats will take you to the nesting sites of Bald Eagles, before returning to the beach.

Explore Valdez, the "Little Switzerland" of Alaska as your helicopter lifts off and flies over the original town site of Valdez, destroyed in the 1964 earthquake. Your flight takes you over the terminus of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and travels down the Valdez Arm to historic Prince William Sound. As you soar over the majestic Chugach Mountains, experience the impressive view of the Columbia Glacier with its steep vertical face of blue luminescent ice rising from the waters of Columbia Bay. Flying over the glacial river of ice continue through Anderson Pass, once used by prospectors during the gold rush days to reach the gold fields in Interior Alaska. Land on the Shoup Glacier and explore the glacial formations with your pilot/guide. Your tour continues across Shoup Bay Marine Park, searching for seals, sea otters and bald eagles on your return flight to Valdez.
