  • Day 1: Arrive in Osaka and enjoy a day at leisure to stroll this bustling, modern Japanese City. Overnight in Osaka.
  • Day 2: Travel to Ancient Nara, Japan's first capital and rich in history and beauty. No fewer than eight UNESCO World Heritage sites are located here. You will visit the Todaiji Temple, housing an immense bronze Buddha; peaceful Kasuga Shrine, founded in AD 710; and scenic Deer Park. Overnight in Nara.
  • Day 3: Then travel on to Kyoto where a half-day tour reveals Sanjusangendo, a temple housing more than 1,000 standing Buddhist statues, and Heian Shrine with its lovely gardens. Overnight in Kyoto.
  • Day 4: From Kyoto, you will board the ship for your cruise, but first you'll visit the Kinkakuji temple and the shogun's Nijo Castle with it's "nightingale floors" that warned of an assassin's approach.
