The first missionary packet landed in Kona in 1820, setting in motion a chain of events that would forever change this remote tropical paradise. Instead of wide sandy beaches, the undulating shore is ringed with an interconnected maze of shallow tidal pools, teeming with marine life and an abundance of spectacular snorkeling spots.
