You will also enjoy Cheechako barbecued chicken, Chilkoot baked beans, Tongass wild-rice pilaf, a variety of fresh salads, corn bread and lemonade, coffee or tea. (Beer and wine are available for an additional charge.) Afterwards, you will roast marshmallows over a crackling fire. View the beautiful Salmon Creek where salmon spawn and remnants of the Historic Wagner Mine are evident.
    • Deluxe Mendenhall & City Tour:
You'll be off to visit the many sights of Juneau while you enjoy the companionship and knowledgeable commentary of your private driver-guide. Learn the colorful history of Juneau's past and the various issues that may effect and mold its future. You will visit the Gastineau Salmon Hatchery, the magnificent Mendenhall Glacier with its newly renovated visitor's center, and the Green Angel Gardens. Additionally, the Alaska State Museum will welcome you to explore its many intriguing exhibits. Weather permitting, you will visit Homestead Park for a view of the quaint harbor city nestled at the foot of Mount Juneau. Travelers will also enjoy a cup of hot Russian tea and a snack.
    • Glacier Flightseeing Adventure Tour:
Travel via floatplane to a seemingly impenetrable world of glaciers and granite, a 1,500-square mile monument to the Ice Age, and see five of its most stunning glaciers. Everyone enjoys a window seat! The Juneau Icefield is a starkly beautiful place where no animals live, ice rarely melts and each snowfall adds to the frigid mass, thousands of feet thick, that feeds the area's massive glaciers. A seasoned Alaskan bush pilot will transport you from Juneau, past waterfalls and lush rainforests, and across the imposing faces of the Norris, Taku, Hole in the Wall and East and West twin glaciers. You'll be able to look directly into forbidding blue ice crevasses some hundreds of feet deep. Keep an eye out for mountain goats, moose, bears and eagles.
    • Juneau Sportfishing Adventure
This adventure is an angler's dreams come true! Enjoy sport fishing for salmon in the calm, beautiful waters of the Inside Passage, just off Juneau's shore. You'll be trolling in one of southeast Alaska's finest fishing grounds, surrounded by some of the most glorious scenery on earth. Each boat has a US Coast Guard-approved captain and features enclosed cabins and marine heads. All rods will be secure in rod holders so you don't even have to hold it. When the fish hits you grab your pole and all others reel their pole in as quickly as possible. With just four to six passengers per boat, you'll have ideal conditions for fishing. For an additional charge, your catch can be flash frozen or smoked and shipped to your home.
    • Mendenhall River Float Trip
This is an exciting yet gentle whitewater rafting adventure, fun for all ages and experience levels. Begin with a scenic tour to Mendenhall Lake, where you'll have a wonderful view of the glacier - 1 1/2 miles wide and 150 feet high at the face. Before boarding your eight- to 12-person raft, you'll be outfitted with raingear, a life jacket and rubber boots. An experienced and knowledgeable oarsman will guide the raft across the still waters of the lake and into the river beyond. You'll be treated to stunning views of hanging glaciers, towering peaks and glacial topography. As you float down Mendenhall River you will experience a few moderate stretches of exhilarating rapids. Midway, you will stop for an Alaskan-style snack of smoked salmon spread, reindeer sausage, cheese and crackers.
    • Pan for Gold & Gold History
Relive Juneau's thrilling history and pan for gold in an authentic setting. A costumed prospector will guide you as you ride through a picturesque historic residential area en route to Last Chance Basin. You will trace the route traversed by Joe Juneau and Richard Harris in their search for gold over 100 years ago. Near the famous Alaska-Juneau gold mine, one of the world's largest hard rock mining operations, you'll have a chance to pan for gold in Gold Creek yourself. There's guaranteed gold in every pan! See the remnants of the mine and listen as the prospector talks about the discovery of gold here and how it was mined.
    • Whale Watching by Jet Boat
Experience one of the best opportunities in Southeast Alaska to see humpback and killer whales and other marine mammals. Your adventure begins with a short drive to a scenic harbor where you will board a "mammal friendly" jet boat with a fully enclosed and heated cabin, big windows, and plenty of deck space. When you find marine mammals, which include whales, porpoise, sea lions, and seals, your captain will approach slowly and quietly to keep from disturbing the animals, and leave it to the animals to provide a close encounter if they so choose. The operator is so confident in their ability to find a whale that they will guarantee you will see at least one whale (perhaps at a distance) or you will receive a $40 cash refund per adult and $20 per child as you disembark the tour boat. Bring your camera and plenty of film.
