    Peace Memorial Park - Built on the site of the last battles for control of Okinawa, the park commemorates the more than 100,000 civilians who died during the conflict - a greater number than the military casualties on both sides. The park is also home to Okinawa Peace Memorial Hall (exterior view), the Okinawa Prefecture Peace Memorial Museum, and the moving Cornerstone of Peace.
    Okinawa Prefecture Peace Memorial Museum - Divided into four sections, the museum exhibits feature descriptive panels, photographs, artifacts and personal testimony to chronicle the full range of Okinawa’s human experience in the tragedy of war.

  • SHOPPING You may shop for souvenirs at the local shops at Ryukyu Glass Craft.
  • WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY Board your motorcoach at the pier for the 90-minute trip to Peace Memorial Park. Drive through Naha, passing by Tomari Bridge and the suburbs en route to Mabuni, where you can also view graves in traditional, Okinawa-style.
