Take in the sights of Kingstown, St. Vincent’s bustling capital city, in an air-conditioned mini-bus, visiting two of St. Vincent’s primary attractions: the Cathedral of the Assumption and the Botanic Gardens. The original cathedral, built in 1823, is an interesting combination of Flemish, Moorish, Venetian, Byzantine and Romanesque architecture. After a brief visit here, you’ll continue on to St. Vincent’s famous Botanic Gardens, the oldest in the western hemisphere. Established in 1765, the gardens cover 20 acres and are home to a wide variety of tropical flowers, plants and trees from the Caribbean and throughout the world. You’ll even see a breadfruit tree derived from the original plant brought to this island in 1793 on board Captain Bligh’s ship the Bounty. As you casually stroll the paved paths and the grassy lawn, your guide will provide ongoing commentary and plenty of interesting facts. Don’t miss the small aviary at the gardens, where you’ll see the beautiful Amazona guildingii, the national parrot of St. Vincent. Your tour concludes with a transfer back through Kingstown to the cruise-ship dock.

Enjoy an exciting sail to the largest of the Grenadine Islands — Bequia.
Board your sailing catamaran and set sail across the channel separating St. Vincent and Bequia. Enjoy ample time ashore to explore Bequia’s laid-back waterfront dotted with boutiques and restaurants. Board the catamaran and sail past Moonhole, a famous and rather unusual residential community. See very unique Caribbean homes set in amazing rock formations and arches as you sail past. No plans are drawn for the houses; the shape of the finished house is governed by the contours of the land, immovable rocks, and trees. Thus each house develops a personality of its own. The tour continues to Petit Nevis where you can view the historic Whaling Station which is the only one of its kind still operating in the Caribbean. Your captain will then drop anchor at one of his favorite snorkeling spots for those who would like to experience Bequia’s underworld. The final stop is the best beach in Bequia, Princess Margaret Beach, for swimming, relaxation, and a delicious lunch before the return sail to St. Vincent and the ship.
