If you smell nutmeg in the air when you step off the ship in
Grenada, it's because this is the spice capital of the world. But there's much more to
this tiny island including a beautiful harbor town and luxuriant vegetation.
Sample Shore Excursions:
- Grenada's Highlights & Scenic Drive:
Visit historic Fort Frederick, picturesque Grand Etang Crater Lake, and Annandale Falls on this guided excursion. Travel along the scenic east coast of the island to Greenville and then on to Grand Etang Lake in Grand Etang National Park, passing verdant groves of banana, cocoa, nutmeg, and other spices.
- Grenada Explorer Tour:
This guided tour surveys the island’s scenic highlights and tours a historic spice plantation. Drive through St. George’s en route to Doulgadston Spice Estate, passing several small villages along the way. On your tour of this historic plantation, learn how spices such as nutmeg, mace, and cocoa are grown and processed the oldfashioned way - by drying in the sun.
- Royal Mt. Carmel Waterfall Tour:
Visit one of Grenada’s picturesque waterfalls. Admire the falls from a distance or walk under them for a brisk and refreshing natural massage.
- Morne Gazo Nature Hike & Beach Tour:
Hike through a low-level rain forest and then relax with a swim in the beautiful Caribbean Sea. Drive through St. George’s over the old Fort Road for a photo stop of the picturesque harbor, on the way to Morne Gazo. This conical hill rises some 1,140 feet above sea level and is forested with semi-deciduous trees — the last forest of its kind on the island.
- Grenada River Tubing Tour:
Cool off the old-fashioned way — by river tubing on one of Grenada’s beautiful rivers. Fed from sources located deep in the island’s interior, this river is nestled amid the exotic tropical rain forest. Be prepared for a thrilling ride down the river, stopping in the pools along the way.

Rain Forest Scenic Drive & Jaco Falls: Dominica is known for its fantastic rain forest and this is your chance to see it as well as a beautiful waterfall with very little walking.
Board your air-conditioned transportation and begin with a drive through the Capital of Roseau to the Morne Bruce
viewpoint that provides an overview of the city and the ship at the dock. Continue to the Botanical Gardens and view the famous and endangered sissereau and jacko parrots in protective cages along with many large trees, exotic flowers, and tropical plants. Continue towards the interior of the rain forest passing by many plantations with various fruit trees such as mango, banana, avocado, and cacao. Stop at Jaco Falls where a very short, flat walk
will take you to the viewpoint where you can look down at the waterfall. Here you can take photos and marvel at the tropical surroundings while enjoying a taste of a local seasonal fruit along with a complementary rum punch or fruit juice. Finally, conclude your rain forest drive through the scenic Layou Valley with its dramatic landscape. The last stop prior to returning to the ship will be for a photo stop at the scenic Layou River, which is the longest and largest river in Dominica
St. Thomas. The second largest of the three major U.S. Virgin Islands is action- packed with sunning, sightseeing and shopping possibilities. The panoramic views from Skyline Drive, St. Peter Great House, and the lush beauty of nearby St. John are just a few of the attractions.
