For centuries, Puerto Vallarta was a sleepy fishing village. Then director John Huston chose the village as the location for his film "Night of the Iguana," starring Richard Burton. Puerto Vallarta was sleepy no more; its transformation into an international resort had begun. Today, the city has its own "Gringo Gulch," a haunt of the rich and famous. Travelers are also drawn by its climate, its excellent shopping — great values on leather goods, jewelry and handicrafts — and mile after mile of palm-lined beaches.
- Bahia de las Banderas.
Spend the afternoon on its powdery beaches and in its glistening blue waters.
- Dolphin Adventures.
In nearby Nuevo Vallarta, Dolphin Adventure is an educational center where you can have an up-close and personal experience with Bottlenose dolphins and sea lions.
- Jungle Tours.
Travel just outside the city for a tour of a tropical forest in the shadow of the Sierra Madre Mountains.
- Puerto Vallarta City, Hacienda, Tequila & Tiles: Take in a new perspective of Puerto Vallarta by combining both old and new aspects of this charming city.

Lying just below the Tropic of Cancer, Mazatlan boasts a superb year-round climate. Sitting on a peninsula at the feet of the rugged Sierra Madre and the Cerro de Neveria, Mazatlan has two distinct types of coastlines — the rocky Pacific beaches and the broad white-sand beaches beloved by visitors. Its beaches and world-class sport fishing quickly turned this once commercial fishing port into one of the world's top resort destinations today.
- Acuario Mazatlan.
One of Mexico's largest aquariums, the Acuario plays hosts to more than 200 varieties of fish and sea life, as well as some lush botanical gardens.
- El Faro.
This lighthouse at Cerro del Creston is the second tallest lighthouse in the world behind Gibraltar. From the top of its 505-foot peak, El Faro offers spectacular views of Mazatlan.
- Mazatlan Cathedral.
Built in 1890, the blue-and-gold spires as well as the murals and gilded altar of this impressive Cathedral attract visitors year after year.
- Mazatlan Highlights & Papantla Flyers: Explore Mazatlan’s old downtown district, visit the majestic cathedral, indulge in some shopping, and then marvel at the airborne ballet of the famed Papantla Flyers.

Situated at the very tip of the world's longest peninsula, Cabo San Lucas calmly watches the cool Pacific Ocean merge with the Sea of Cortez. Once you experience its crystal-clear waters and white-sand beaches, you'll understand why this once-sleepy Baja cannery village transformed into a popular international resort.
- Los Arcos. Take a boat tour to see these spectacular rock formations -- and keep an eye out for sea lions, pelicans and migrating whales.
- Pelican Rock Cove. A great spot to snorkel and scuba dive with a wide variety of marine life, including angelfish, Moorish idols and yellowtail surgeons.
- Santa Maria Cove. The secluded waters in this cove on the Sea of Cortez are excellent for snorkeling and kayaking.
