Grand Cayman Island Highlights & Turtle Farm

Stop in “Hell” for a photo, visit the marvelous sea turtles of the world-famous Turtle Farm at Boatswain Bay Beach, and savor a taste of rum cake on this deluxe island tour.

Board your air-conditioned transportation for the short drive to the first stop. Along the way pass by Fort George, the Legislative Assembly Building, Heroes Square, the Peace Memorial, and many of the numerous banks Grand Cayman is famous for. Continue along famous Seven Mile Beach as your guide points out various points of interest. Pass by the hotel zone, the Governor’s Mansion, and the Old Homestead on your way to the small town of “Hell" so named for the multitude of limestone formations that once led an island commissioner to exclaim, “This must be what Hell looks like.” Prepare your mail with postage in advance (Caymanian stamps are available onboard); letters and postcards mailed here are postmarked “Hell.” The next stop is the Turtle Farm (at Boatswain’s Beach) to learn about and view the magnificent green sea turtles. At the Touch Tanks you are free to hold one of the yearlings and take a photo of this incredible experience. Before departing to the Rum Cake Factory there will be time to purchase a refreshment or that unique turtle souvenir. Savor the tasty varieties of rum cake prior to your return to the tender dock.

Snuba At Stingray City

If you have tried snorkeling, then SNUBA is the perfect choice to further explore the beautiful underwater world of Grand Cayman.

Board your transportation for the short drive to the boat, and then cruise out to the original Stingray City. After a SNUBA orientation and safety information has been provided, follow the guide into the realm of the Southern stingray. Dive down to a maximum depth of 15 feet to interact with the gentle stingrays. Your guide will point out other marine life that may include moray eels, lobster, turtles and many other species. After the dive, head back to shore where your transportation to the tender dock will be waiting.

Pedro St. James & Queen Elizabeth II Botanical Gardens

Board your air-conditioned transportation and drive southeast from George Town to Pedro St. James, the birthplace of Cayman democracy. En route, your driver points out sites of interest and discusses Cayman history. At Pedro St. James you have approximately one hour to explore the Great House, stroll through its gardens, and view a multimedia presentation on Grand Cayman’s history. Your next stop is Queen Elizabeth II Botanical Gardens. Maintained by the Cayman government, the gardens boast rare plants and tropical flowers and are home to native aquatic birds and the island’s blue iguana. Your final visit is to the Cayman’s popular Stingray Brewery. Tour the brewery and then then sample some of Stingray's brews.

Island Highlights And Stingray City Observatory

Board your transportation for the short transfer to Morgan’s Harbor for the scenic boat ride to Stingray City two miles offshore. Enter the observatory, a wall-to- wall viewing chamber, and watch divers feed the large numbers of Southern Stingrays that teem alongthis offshore sandbar. Back on dry land, visit the famous Turtle Farm, the world’s only commercial green sea turtle hatchery. Tour the hatchery and see sea turtles ranging in size from tiny hatchlings to 600-pound adults. Then go to Hell. This small tourist village is surrounded by unusual rock formations that once led an island commissioner to exclaim, "This must be what Hell looks like." Prepare your mail with postage in advance (Caymanian stamps available on board); letters and postcards mailed here are postmarked "Hell." End your tour with a photo stop at picturesque Seven Mile Beach. This gleaming stretch of white sand is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Cayman Wetland Kayak Safari

A short bus ride takes you to the staging area where you meet your expert guide and receive a safety briefing and orientation in a shallow, protected area. Then explore secluded shorelines, inlets, mangrove communities, and bird nesting areas as your guide points out sights of interest and explains the importance and interdependence of the delicate Eco-systems with the surrounding coral reefs. Enjoy a swim or snorkel during your safari. Return to the ship, driving through one of the island’s most attractive residential communities. Snacks, drinking water, and snorkeling equipment included.

Aquaboats & Snorkel Adventure

After a short walk from the cruise terminal, meet your guide and receive basic instruction in the operation of this incredibly stable craft. Then you’re off! Driving your own boat, follow your guide along the picturesque south coast to Sandy Cay, a deserted island. Stroll along the beach and explore the island like a modern-day Robinson Crusoe. Then head for Smith’s Cove, a little bay with an almost-secret beach where you have time to swim and snorkel in calm waters teeming with fish. Please note that at both Sandy Cay and Smith’s Cove you moor your boat and swim or wade ashore. Follow the coastline north to the Callie and view this old shipwreck. At the conclusion of the tour, walk back to the tender dock, an approximately 4-block walk.
