By air-conditioned bus, you'll drive through the city of Castries past the market and century-old Cathedral. Winding up the hills, your first stop is at Bagshaws Art Studio, known for its exquisite tropical designs on hand silk-screened fabrics. Next stop is La Toc Battery, an authentic 19th-century British fort built to defend against foreign invasion of the vital coaling stations of St. Lucia.
La Toc Fort offers a fabulous representation of the British military in the late 19th century. You'll see dimly lit tunnels, a shell store, an original shell lift and old ventilation shafts.
Traveling on, you'll pass historic Morne Fortune, where many battles between the English and French took place. Then see beautiful banana plantations set between undulating hills before stopping for a brief visit at Anse-La-Raye, a typical fishing village with colorful dug-out canoes and tiny wooden houses, some 100 years old. Wander along the waterfront before heading off to view the exotic Marigot Bay, a beautiful yachting anchorage and then to St. Marks for rum or fruit punch and local snacks.

Catamaran Cruise to Fond Doux Estate Tour

Board a large catamaran for a relaxing cruise down to Soufriere for visits to highlights of this famous area. Pigeon Island Sea Kayaking Tour

Sea kayaking is a fun and exciting way to experience historic Pigeon Island National Park. After a brief transfer to Rodney Bay, a safety briefing and kayaking lesson will be provided prior to your approximately 30-minute paddle in a two-person kayak. Because of the calm water and the relatively short distance to paddle, this tour is ideal for novices. As you kayak, the guide will relate the interesting history of the area, from the days of the pirates to the occupation of Pigeon Island as a former U.S. Naval Base. Upon arrival at the island, you'll have ample time to enjoy the small beach, swim, kayak and explore the ruins of 18th-century British fortifications and the small museum and interpretive center. A beverage and light snack will be served, and there is a restaurant/bar for your convenience. From Pigeon Island, you'll be transported back to the ship by mini bus or open-air truck.
