Bermuda's seven principal islands have been completely tamed, including the capital city of Hamilton which sits between the East and West Ends.
Its 21 square miles are almost suburban in character, with pastel-colored cottages fronted by manicured lawns. Bermuda's culture is exceptionally civilized - a direct influence of its English heritage.
Cricket is the national game, the judges wear white wigs and tea is served every afternoon in this self-governing British colony.
Sample Shore Excursions:
- Hamilton Gardens & Architecture Tour:
The City of Hamilton dates back two centuries and has retained many of it's fine period buildings despite having become a bustling 21st C city of international commerce.
On this 90 min tour your guide with over 10 years experience will be your eyes and ears as we tour this colonial city.
- Crystal Caves and Tuckers Town Drive Tour:
Your tour will depart ship side in comfortable mini-vans. Enjoy a lively commentary as your guide points out significant historic sights and interesting facts about this unique Island.
Stop at the majestic Crystal Caves, which were discovered accidentally by two boys looking for a lost ball back in 1907. Walk down 80 steps to crystal-clear water and towering displays of majestic stalactites and stalagmites. You will then travel to the Castle Harbour area Tuckers Town, Bermuda's most exclusive neighborhood, also known as Billionaires Row, where several well known international tycoons own prestigious homes. You will have a picture stop at John's Smith Bay, an azure blue backdrop and pink sand beach, before returning to Hamilton.
- Hamilton by Trolley Tour:
Tour the city of Hamilton and the Botanical Gardens onboard the Bermuda Trolley Train, which departs shipside. This one-hour tour is an excellent opportunity to visit many of the great attractions within Hamilton, and includes photo stops at City Hall, Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI) and the Botanical Gardens. The conductor will provide commentary along the route.
- Historic Verdmont, South Shore and Afternoon Tea Tour:
Built in 1710, Verdmont Museum is a charming mansion maintained and preserved in its original 18th-century state by the Bermuda National Trust. Inside, the Trust has preserved a vast array of antiques, fine English and Chinese porcelain, paintings and children's toys. Next, wander through the historic South Gardens, which feature sweeping views of the south shore coastline. You'll also see the West Garden, which is still planted with herbs and flowers that were cultivated for seasoning and cooking during that era.
- Quintessential Bermuda and Shopping Tour:
Depart the pier in mini-vans for a scenic drive through six of Bermuda's nine parishes. On your way to St. George's you'll drive through the Bermuda Botanical Gardens, with over 1,000 different varieties of plant life. A vast array of local flowers, herbs and trees abound in gardens, including the "Rose Garden" and "Garden for the Blind". The estate also includes Camden House, a stately Georgian mansion that serves as the official residence of the premier of Bermuda.
You will continue your picturesque ride via North Shore Road, passing through the Devonshire and Smith parishes. Crossing over Flatts Inlet Bridge - a spectacular sight where rip tides swirl as it is the only opening to the sea - you'll drive to St. George's, the site of Bermuda's original capital founded in 1612. After a short orientation, you'll be free to explore this charming town on your own. Visit famed St. Peter's Church - dating from the 1620s, it is the oldest Anglican church in the Western Hemisphere. Stroll down winding alleys and cobbled streets to shop, or visit one of the pubs for a beverage. Afterward, you'll return to Hamilton via South Shore Road and the exclusive Tucker's Town area. A brief stop will be made at John Smith's Bay, where you will be able to see firsthand the unique pink-sand beaches for which Bermuda is famous.
- Railway Trail Biking Tour:
The original Bermuda Railway ran from one end of the island to the other. The passenger train, known as Old Rattle and Shake, ran through the island on narrow gauge tracks laid on a route engineered to be as flat as possible. The train and tracks are now long gone; however, the trail still remains and provides locals and visitors with the ultimate leisurely pedal-bike tour route.
Your bike tour offers some of the island's most spectacular views, with stunning seascapes, lush gardens and exotic flora and fauna. The ride is approximately 11/2 hours long and, in some cases, allows for a cool-off swim at a beach location afterward. Twenty-one speed mountain bikes are used and the terrain is a mix of mostly flat paved and dirt trails, suitable for an average cyclist. You will want to wear good sneakers and lightweight clothing over a bathing suit. Beach towels must be carried with you (in your backpack, or must fit in the bike's carrier basket). Helmets and refreshments are supplied.
- EZ Rider Electric Bike 'n' Hike Expedition Tour:
Tour Bermuda on an EZ to pedal, 7-speed, Charger electric pedal-assisted mountain bicycle -- even if you are out of shape! You'll see the real Bermuda as you join E Z Rider on an unhurried, guided, two hour, electric bicycle sightseeing tour through our picturesque West End. Visit Lagoon Park & the Old Naval Cemetery. Finally, it's all downhill on Soundview Road to the Cavello Bay neighbourhood ferry dock, where you'll sail back to Dockyard on a leisurely 20 minute Bermuda Ferry ride! Please log onto EZRiderBermuda.com for complete info.
The 7-speed Charger electric pedal-assisted bicycle -- or pedelec bicycle -- is just like a normal bicycle except that it is super EZ to pedal! As you pedal a small battery-powered electric motor kicks in to substantially boost your pedaling power -- up to 4 times your own strength! When you stop pedaling, the motor stops assisting you, and your electric bike coasts and stops just like a pedal bicycle. The Charger electric pedal-assisted bicycle is truly EZ to ride... especially for folks who would not ride a regular pedal bicycle. When you ride our 7-speed pedelec bicycle you'll feel like you have bionic legs -- especially up hills! And our guides always look out for your safety.

The 700 islands of the Bahamas Islands begin 50 miles off the coast of Florida, stretching 760 miles to the southeast.
The heritage of Old Nassau blends the Southern charm of British loyalists from the Carolinas, the African tribal traditions of freed slaves, and a bawdy history of blockade-running during the Civil War and rum-running in the Roaring 1920s.
Over it all is a subtle layer of civility and sophistication, derived from three centuries of British rule.
Sample Shore Excursions:
- Nassau City, Paradise Island and Atlantis Tour:
Experience the scenic beauty of Nassau past and present during this visit to Nassau City, Paradise Island and Atlantis.
Depart the pier for the drive to scenic Bay Street, the heart of the city, then continue on to the renowned 102-foot, 66-step Queen's Staircase. Hand-carved by slaves out of solid limestone, the staircase was named in honor of Queen Victoria, whose 64-year reign included her enforcement of the Emancipation Act abolishing slavery. If you wish, you may climb the staircase leading to the water tower and take the elevator to the top of the island's highest observation point; 216 feet above sea level. From here, you will take in panoramic views and photo opportunities of the entire city of Nassau.
- Catamaran Sail and Reef Snorkel Tour:
Explore the crystal-clear waters and abundant marine life of the Bahamas during this catamaran and reef snorkeling sojourn in Nassau.
Depart the pier for the brief stroll to your awaiting catamaran, which features a shaded lounge and spacious deck area. After embarking, you will cruise through Nassau Harbor en route to a lush, tropical reef. Upon arrival, you will receive your safety instructions and snorkeling gear, then enter the water and begin snorkeling. Your crew will provide assistance in the water throughout your snorkeling session to ensure your safety and fun. Bottled water will be provided throughout the excursion, along with a complimentary rum punch after snorkeling. Beer, sodas and mixed drinks are available for purchase.

Founded in 1670 by a group of English aristocrats as an intended moneymaking venture, 'Charles Towne' swiftly boomed as the port to serve the rice and cotton plantations. The Civil War started on Charleston's very doorstep at Fort Sumter that lies on an island in the harbor.
Fire swept through the city in 1861, destroying large areas, and additional damage was inflicted in 1865 with the Union bombardment that lasted 58 days. The slump in cotton prices and decline of the plantations led to an economic crash after the War.
The final blow to the city was a catastrophic earthquake in 1886. When the rest of the state became industrialized, Charleston was the exception. Only with the arrival World War II did the city regain importance as a port and naval base.
Since then a steady program of preservation and restoration has made tourism one of Charleston's main industries. Despite its great popularity as a tourist destination, the city has managed to retain its quaint atmosphere while still being an energetic and real working town.
Today, Charleston is a compelling place to visit, especially the historic district featuring tall, narrow houses of multi-colored stucco adorned with wooden shutters and ironwork balconies. Hidden gardens, leafy patios, palm trees, a semitropical climate and an easy-going atmosphere complete the picture of one of the most beloved cities of the South and was recently acclaimed the most courteous city in the U.S.
Sample Shore Excursions:
- Historic Charleston and Boone Hall. Tour Charleston's beautiful old historic district, viewing the lovely homes along the Battery, 18th century Rainbow Row, magnificent public buildings and churches, and many other points of interest. But first the tour will begin with Historic Boone Hall Plantation, which was used in the filming of the television mini series, "North and South" and "Queen", and for background filming in "Gone with the Wind". Tour this lovely Georgian plantation house, the slave quarters built from brick made on the plantation in the 1800s and watch the flower ladies making their sweet grass baskets. After your tour of the house, enjoy cookies and lemonade on the porch.
