Leave the ship this morning and drive through the intriguing Peloponnesian countryside to ancient Corinth, about 90 minutes away. At its height Corinth was among the richest cities in the Mediterranean. Saint Paul lived and preached here for two years. Enjoy a walking tour through the ruins where you will see the huge Agora, or market place, and Apollo's Temple, which dates to the 6th century BC.

Then it's on to the famous and fascinating Corinth Canal. Although the idea of a shortcut connecting the Ionian and Aegean seas dates back at least to Roman times, construction of a canal was only begun in 1881. It is barely four miles long and just 70 feet wide. The soaring cliff walls can reach 170 feet high in some places and the water depth is 26 feet. Board a private local cacique in the village of Isthmia and experience it yourself as your boat navigates the canal while you enjoy some local Greek snacks and ouzo along with the scenery.

Afterwards re-board your coach for the journey back to Navplion.
