Sample Ports of Call
St. Barthelemy, French West Indies

From its postcard harbor to its twenty spectacular beaches, many travelers consider this beautiful little island to be the closest thing to heaven on earth. Rolling hills, picturesque villages and broad valleys are surrounded by coral reefs, gin-clear waters and blue-green lagoons. A favorite retreat for the rich and famous, St. Barth is renowned for its natural beauty, delicious cuisine, chic boutiques and relaxed ambiance.
Tiny, picture-perfect St. Barts has long been the haunt of the very rich who come for privacy, gorgeous beaches, and exquisite French cuisine. It has 20 or more magnificent beaches, linked by hilly narrow roads you can explore in open-air Jeeps or "mini-mokes." In Gustavia, the island's Lilliputian port, quaint streets lead past small markets and bakeries - and dozens of small shops selling French perfumes, sportswear, watches, and crystal.
    Sample Shore Excursions:
  • St. Barth "Seafari": Board a big RIB boat and enjoy a complete circumnavigation of the island. Your guide will show you many remote coves and beaches and will share information about the every day life on St. Barth and about its history. You will get to see some stunning villas as the tour proceeds along the south and southeast coasts past Gouverneur and Salines Beach. Watch for Grand Fond, Toiny, Lorient and St. Jean villages, and you will stop at Colombier for swimming and some refreshments.
  • Yellow Semi-Sub Exploration: Board the semi-sub and sit in the tunnel-like hull in front of the underwater windows or on the main deck to view Gustavia. Hear about island life and history en route to the entrance of the harbor. Many green turtles live in this area.
The vessel will pass over the wreck of the 50-foot island freighter Marignan, sunk during Hurricane Luis in 1995. Turning around gros ilets, you will pass over the wreck of the multi-million-dollar yacht?Non-Stop. This superb 110-foot yacht now lies among schools of yellow and blue fishes about 30 feet down. On the way to the next stop, the vessel will cross the southern-east edge of the Saint Barth Marine Park.
Undersea marvels parade just in front of you—the sea bottom is full of colorful coral reefs and are gently invaded by troops of sergeantmajor fish. Your semi-submersible vessel now arrives at a group of three tiny rock islands called The Saints. The highlight of the tour will be when the crew feed the surrounding fish and they almost push against your window.
You may as well see a shark or two. At this point, you will exchange seating areas with other guests, for the trip back to the pier from a different vantage point. Those on deck will enjoy a refreshing drink while viewing the beautiful anchored yachts and stunning shores of St. Barth.

Jost Van Dyke, British Virgin Isles

Inviting beaches and tiny shops selling local treasures welcome you to this quiet island haven. Don't miss dining with your feet in the sand at Foxy's on the beach-a perfect lunch stop!
    Sample Shore Excursions:
  • Jost Van Dyke Sailing: Board a sleek catamaran and sail through the Jost van Dyke archipelago. The vessel will anchor off Sandy Spit, from where you can snorkel and swim over a fascinating reef.
Then it’s anchors aweigh, and set sail for Diamond Cay - a tiny islet completely surrounded by powdery white sand, azure blue waters and an underwater world filled with colorful marine life.
Swim or snorkel directly from the catamaran before returning to the ship’s anchorage. Refreshments are included.

Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Isles

The most chic resorts of the British Virgin Isles are located on Virgin Gorda, an eight-square-mile island divided nearly in two, with settlements at each end. The south of the island is best known for the curious assembly of house - sized rocks called "the Baths", which are jumbled together to form huge underground pools and caverns. The beach at the Baths is large, wide, and sandy - perfect for sunning and swimming.
    Sample Shore Excursions:
  • The Baths by 4x4 Vehicle: Drive an open-air 4x4 vehicle drive to Virgin Gorda’s best-known landmark—The Baths. This formation of boulders makes for great swimming and exploring of the caves. To get there you’ll travel along rugged roads with 360° views of the islands surrounding Virgin Gorda. A refreshment will be offered and you’ll have time for snorkeling, swimming, discovering the devil’s trail through the caves or relaxing on the white-sand beach before returning to the ship. A photo stop is made along the way.
  • Virgin Gorda Snorkel Tour: Enjoy an exhilarating 15-minute ride from your ship to two of Virgin Gorda’s prime snorkel sites. Once there, enjoy the chance to interact with the flora and fauna of these famed waters. Snorkel with an experienced snorkel master. Tropical fruit punch will be served before you return to the ship.
  • 4x4 Escapade Virgin Gorda Tour: Take an open-air 4x4 vehicle to drive over the mountains and meadows of the second-largest island in the B.V.I. Virgin Gorda, dubbed the Fat Virgin by Columbus, is of volcanic origin with a mountainous center. Gorda Peak National Park connects three very different worlds: the waterworld North Sound, the secluded Beach Coast and the boulder-strewn plains of The Baths and The Valley. Visit historic and community sites as you travel along the rugged roads and discover panoramic 360° views from vantage points that are not easily accessed by conventional vehicles. Visit the copper mine, Savannah Bay and the famous boulder formation at The Baths. You will have one hour to enjoy a refreshing beverage and snack, and to wash off the trail dust during snorkeling, swimming, discovering the devil’s trail through the caves, or simply relaxing on the white-sand beach before returning to the ship.

Tortola, British Virgin Isles

Legend has it that after Christopher Columbus discovered the other Caribbean islands, he returned to Tortola to live. Tortola is a sailor’s isle, its wealth of inlets and harbors having been transformed into luxurious moorings and mini-ports for Caribbean yachtsmen. Days revolve around water sports and sunbathing on stunning beaches like Cane Garden Bay, with its deep wide sand bed, gentle slope, and terrific views.

St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands

The largest and most developed of the U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Thomas lives up to license plates proclaiming "American Paradise".
Steep hills carpeted in green give way to dramatic views of the yacht-lined bay, St. John, and the British Virgin Isles. Charlotte Amalie, the bustling waterfront seat of government, exudes Danish charm. And Magens Bay Beach on the north end is considered by many travel writers to be among the top ten most beautiful beaches in the world. One of the biggest pluses is the shopping here: unset gems (emeralds, diamonds, and sapphires, for example), liquor, and perfume are duty-free.
    Sample Shore Excursions:
  • St Thomas Orientation with Transfer to Airport or Hotel: Leave the pier with your luggage as you set out by motor coach to briefly explore the highlights of St. Thomas.
You’ll head first to the Skyline Overlook for photo opportunity and then up to Mountain Top, the island’s highest point, to enjoy a banana daiquiri and the breathtaking view of the British Virgin Islands.
Then, you will be dropped off in downtown Charlotte Amalie with time for shopping and lunch (at your own expense).
At 1:00pm, re-board your coach for a transfer to the airport or to the Frenchman’s Reef Hotel.

St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands

The smallest of the U.S. Virgin Islands, more than half of St. John is reserved as a national park. Natural wonders abound on this peaceful island. As many as 160 species of birds cavort in the trees. The hawksbill turtle nests on St. John beaches, and beneath the sea, coral reefs are alive with colorful fish. Beaches are spectacular - unspoiled, powdery sand, crystalline waters - the quintessential Caribbean. Trunk Bay, touted as one of the most beautiful in the world, has a 225 yard self-guided snorkeling trail marked by underwater signs that identify coral reef life.
    Sample Shore Excursions:
  • St. John & Trunk Bay Beach: St. John Island is an unspoiled paradise of white-sand beaches and more than half of the island is protected as lush Virgin Islands National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. You will be driven through the natural beauty of the National Park, stopping to photograph spectacular sights from the overlooks above Cruz Bay, Hawksnest Bay and famous Caneel Bay Plantation—a hotel resort developed by Laurence Rockefeller. The tour highlight is a visit to Trunk Bay, rated by the National Park Service as one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world. Here you will have approximately 1 1/2 hours to swim, snorkel, explore the beach, take photographs and relax in America’s Paradise! The beauty of Trunk Bay is enhanced by views of several offshore islands including three from the nearby British Virgin Islands.
  • Kayak, Hike & Snorkel: Caneel Multi-Eco Adventure: A unique, multi-eco experience awaits you. A nature guide will introduce you to the fabulous natural world above and below the water, shoreline and wooded forest in the Virgin Islands National Park. Much of the tour is within the exclusive Caneel Bay Resort. You will visit three world-famous beaches, snorkel a picturesque coral reef, relax under palm trees, and visit historic sugar plantation ruins. Hike along through the picturesque wooded forest trails of Lind Point for 45 minutes, with breathtaking views above rocky outcrops overlooking numerous offshore cays and St. Thomas, where dolphins are often spotted frolicking in the waves. There are numerous examples of rare and beautiful indigenous trees and plants that can be appreciated along the trail. Now you will kayak from Caneel Bay Beach to Honeymoon Beach and Salomon Beach over fabulous turquoise water. Paddle over colorful coral reefs in shallow, crystal clear waters and over sea grass bed areas frequented by sea turtles and stingrays. Sit-on-top, easy to paddle kayaks are used. Next, snorkel a coral reef in shallow clear waters of Virgin Islands National Park. Your guide will identify the different types of coral, colorful reef fish and marine life. Paddle back to Caneel Bay Beach, stroll through Caneel Bay Resort botanical gardens, and view Danish plantation sugar factory ruins before boarding your safari bus back to Cruz Bay. Life vests required.
