Overview
Viking is bringing their wildly successful river cruise experience to the ocean with the Viking Star.
The ship takes many cues from the river ships, including the intimacy of sailing with fewer passengers.
Viking Star has just 465 staterooms and maintain an exclusive feel. The ship will also feature a few public rooms that bring passengers together to create conversation, like the snow room in the spa and the cantilevered pool at the ship’s aft.
The most important thing Viking made sure to bring to this ship is the sense of destination-based enrichment.
Just as on their river ships, this ship will feature meals from the surrounding regions and have programs and speakers that will delight passengers on the cultures and heritages of their travel destinations.

This was our first Viking cruise. It was everything we had hoped for, for our 45th anniversary. We loved the size, the class of the atmosphere, the crew and staff were above the bar, the food amazing always and the Restaurant, Manfred's and Chefs table wreathe best. We also frequented the World Cafe for quick meals. I can not say enough about our satisfaction except that we have already booked another cruise! Jojo is excellent at her position. AS maybe being in the category of one of the younger couples, 69 and 68, we still did not feel like we were on the wrong cruise. Never seemed crowded. I must say that the best thing we did is book one of the pre extensions for four days before boarding the ship. It was wonderful. Credit to the tour guide Adreana in Lake Como to Verona. Beautiful trip. Thank you for your consistency of class. Please continue. Service was impeccable . Staff was over the top friendly hands down. Made the time spent away so wonderful! And the room was the best. So much room to be in comfort. Loved it all! Thank You.

The Viking staff was wonderful. They did everything to make u feel at home. The ship was beautiful, food delicious and all side trips were terrific!

I had very high expectations. The Viking star exceeded all of them. Any minor issues or questions were addressed immediately. The ship’s administrators and crew bent over backwards to assure the passengers’ comfort, and enjoyment. No one area was ever crowded. Many beautiful areas to sit, relax, and view the ocean. Food was exquisitely prepared and served. Looking forward to my next Viking Ocean cruise. Embarkation and disembarkation were seamlessly accomplished, convenient, extremely organized - assuring passenger comfort from start to finish. Off-season travel was a treat. Fewer tourists, no crowds, pure joy.
