Overview
In the world of real estate, a waterfront view is the Holy Grail for property. On Viking Jarl, every stateroom has a waterfront view. The majority of the ship’s 95 staterooms even come with balconies. Twenty-two staterooms have French balconies, 39 have verandas, and nine have both. But the views don’t stop there; the ship’s lounges and restaurants are all lined with panoramic windows.
Being one of Viking’s Longships, the Viking Jarl also has innovative outdoor features like the Aquavit Terrace that can either be an open-air outdoor café or easily have windows put up to make it an indoor space, depending on the weather.

Viking does an excellent job of meeting you at the airport take you to your hotel or ship. Great people leading the excursions they are very knowledgeable of the history of excursions they led. At the end of the trip Viking was there to make sure you made your flight connection at the airport. They helped you if they were any flight changes coming or going. You are in good hands with viking. Stress free.
Pros: Very clean ship loved the atmosphere of such boats. Vary good programs and the food was excellent after dinner programs were fun.
Cons: Not used to eating at 7:00 to 7:30.

This was our second Viking river cruise. The food and service was excellent. All the tour guides were very knowledgeable. There was something for everyone's interests. Would highly recommend Viking for anyone interested in river cruising.
Pros: Free air - package price - itinerary - food - excellent service
Cons: Terrible wifi

I'm being picky about the shower stall, a small inconvenience considering everything else was "Top of the Line"! Regional dinner meals were outstanding, especially the soups. The staff were always accommodating, friendly and fun. The included tours were more than we expected - educational, well-managed and tour guides were exceptional. The Danube is truly a beautiful river with excellent port visits (Regensburg was our favorite surprise!). We did have to change ships due to the river level and Viking managed it almost seamlessly. Yes, we had to pack and unpack and rise an hour earlier, but by the end of day it was a non-event. Well done!
Pros: Meals, staff, tours, accomodations, scenery
Cons: shower stall size

Had a great time even with a busted leg. The excursions were well worth the trip. Too bad that many excursions were cut short due to the distance between ports
Pros: Food staff and officers
Cons: Short trips around ports.

Two seatings for dinner would be better than one. Wish there could have been more entertainment in the evening - maybe local people singing folk songs or playing traditional music Would have liked more lectures about the areas we visited
Pros: Interesting excursions led by excellent tour guides, food was good, met a lot of interesting people
Cons: Dinner was served at 7:30 - 8:00 pm - much too late for me. So many people crowded in the dining room produced a dull roar

This was a great trip. We met a lot of really nice people, and had a great time. The program director (Boris) was a total stitch. It was interesting to watch the ship sail through the various locks on the Danube. We didn't get a chance to shop a lot in Budapest or Salzburg due to the fact that the days we were there were national holidays in the respective countries and the shops were closed. We had a great time regardless. Very attentive personal service.
Pros: The staff were amazing. Good food.
Cons: Two raw rainy days. National holidays in Hungary and Austria - closed shops
