The Viking Nerthus continues Viking Rivers’ proud history of designing elegant, state-of-the-art longships.
You’ll find modern staples like the indoor/outdoor Aquavit Terrace, the vibrant observation lounge, buzzing bar and rejuvenating sun deck – each of which provides its own unique panoramic river views.
The Viking Nerthus also features several forward-thinking “green” design elements – including efficient (and smoother) hybrid engines, solar panels and an onboard herb garden – so you won’t have to worry about impacting the beautiful rivers upon which you’ll sail.
One of the best features of the Viking Nerthus is you’ll always have plenty of space to enjoy the ship and your views of the surrounding cities and countryside.

Overall, we really enjoyed the Nerthus. Very nice layout of the ship, with cozy seating areas to read, etc. Also enjoyed the walking track on the top. The coffee stations were always stocked with goodies throughout the day. Food choices were varied and nicely prepared - as mentioned above, we would have preferred to have dinner somewhat earlier, such as between 5-7 pm, or perhaps there could be a small sandwich or salad bar which would be separate from the main dining room. Our Program Director, Carmen, was outstanding, making sure that all events ran smoothly. Finally, we were most appreciative of the help which we got from Viking getting to the ship from the airport, and then back to the airport after sailing. Highly recommend!
Pros: Exceptional cleanliness, customer service, friendly & helpful staff.
Cons: Dinner time was quite late for our liking. Would prefer 5 to 7 pm

Viking will be at the top of our list for any future river cruises.
Pros: Quality of ship; Quality & Friendliness of entire staff; Quality of food & drinks; punctuality on all aspects of the cruise & ports.
