Overview
You’ll be in good hands when you sail on the Viking Njord, named after the Norse god of the sea.
Not only is the ship named after such a fitting character, the ship’s staff and crew are always working behind the scenes to ensure that you have everything to make your sailing perfect.
You’ll be blown away by the chefs who work to create beautiful meals that reference the region. These meals are served at the Viking Njord’s formal dining room or the casual Aquavit Terrace, which is a venue that offers al fresco dining when the weather permits.

Viking Njord
I wish there was more to do on the ship. It didn't seem like the best value for the money. Staff in the restaurant did not provide efficient or speedy service. It also felt like you were an inconvenience or annoyance if you asked for something, like ketchup, a refill, etc.
Pros: The sites we saw were beautiful and the locations/stops were great. The cities and towns we visited were amazing and we were able to see and experience the best locations on the Rhine. Viking staff were great with logistics before and after our cruise adventure, meeting us at the airport, coordinating hotels and extensions.
Cons: The boat, itself, left a lot to be desired. There were minimal amenities and customer service wasn't the best, which surprised me. There was only one restaurant with limited options. If you are a vegan (as my friend is), good luck. Most vegetarian meals have cheese (and it's not something easily removed). Dinner service took FOREVER! Two hours to eat dinner each night seemed excessive. Room service is not an option and there are not any other eating options.
