Overview
The Viking Skirnir accommodates no more than 190 guests in 95 outside staterooms, most with spacious balconies. The rooms aboard the Viking Skirnir feature premium hotel-style beds, large flat-panel TVs, and – perhaps most importantly – expansive views of the gorgeous surroundings.
There’s no doubt about it, the Viking Skirnir is designed to impress – featuring free shipwide wi-fi, the Aquavit Terrace that transitions between an indoor and outdoor dining venue before your eyes, and a large sun deck with 360-degree views of the surrounding cities and countryside.
While cruising aboard the Viking Skirnir, you’ll not only enjoy viewing the regions through which you sail, you’ll also enjoy learning about them thanks to Viking’s famed Culture Curriculum enrichment programs.

Ship was half full so we got exceptional service. Perfect weather bonus. Loved the ports. Adequate port time. Loved walking on deck as the unesco sites passed by or until we stopped to explore. The 67 locks were technologically amazing.
Pros: Service. Organization. Food.
Cons: None

We thoroughly enjoyed our 15 day cruise on the Danube, Main, and Rhine rivers. There were plenty of choices in excursions, led by expert local guides. The water level was too low for the ship to pass on a section of the Main river. Viking anticipated that might be the case, so a sister Viking ship sailed from Amsterdam to the northern end of the blockage. All their passengers were bussed to our ship and we were bussed to their ship. Everyone received the identical stateroom they had . Viking made this disruption smooth and painless. Extremely professional staff and service!
Pros: Ship, Staff, Service, Itinerary
Cons: none

Viking Skirnir
Pros: The staff are incredibly thoughtful and got to know us on the first day. The chef is wonderful and prepared incredibly delicious meals. Cons: Buses never arrived for tour in Amsterdam, lock in Maastrich closed on Easter so we had to be bussed to Antwerp, not enough seating for Viking Explorer Society reception, did not get champagne for the welcome reception (staff passed out champagne once and never circled around to get everyone). This next comment is my responsibility - I should have checked local holiday schedule. Three of the nine days were holidays (Good Friday, Easter, and Easter Monday) and most everything was closed. Quite disappointed we couldn't shop and explore restaurants and cafes in 1/3 of the stops.
Pros: Staff, food, itinerary
Cons: missed tour, closed lock, missed some small details
