This ship is one of Viking’s Longships, which have been praised in the press and among cruisers for their clean, new designs.
One of the most popular features on Viking Var is the Aquavit Terrace, which allows passengers to dine al fresco. Or, if the weather is not cooperating, the ship’s staff can enclose the restaurant so the space is still usable.
The Viking Var has 95 staterooms, all with beautiful views, opening the world up to the wonders that live along Europe's rivers.

- We loved this experience and will definitely vacation with Viking again. - We felt the handling of the Covid restrictions were necessary to make all passengers feel safe, and were handled very professionally! - Viking employees were wonderful! From the pick-up at the airport in Prague to the drop-off in Budapest everyone was friendly, efficient, and treated each of their guests with respect and top-notch service! - All tours were lead by guides who made all the sites visited that much more interesting with their knowledge and presentation! - Special mention to Adrian and Connie on the Pre-excisions, Klaus, Alex, Ryan, Rolly, Gilbert, Yuri and Jasmina on the Var. they gave us amazing service!!
Pros: Everything! I can’t imagine how it could have been better, even with the Covid restrictions!
Cons: Covid, through no fault of Viking! Viking handled Covid restrictions very well.

We have had French chefs, Japanese chefs, Filipino chefs, can we try an American chef Budapest by night, the Narrows, the Prague extension were great! The quality of the crew cleaning your cabin and waiting your table is the best. The guides are terrific. Punctuality is appreciated. And a good time was had by all.

Love our trip! Exceeded our expectations. So much to do and see. Wish a little more evening activity on the boat between 9-10 pm. Otherwise awesome experience all in all
Pros: Awesome staff, clean, great layout and never felt crowded
Cons: Noisy room - engine etc. problem with toilet but got fixed fast. Wish they gave us regular water at excursion instead of mineral water
