If visiting in late June to mid-July, drive or cycle into the island's interior to witness the magnificent lavender fields in full bloom, particularly around the villages of Velo Grablje and Brusje. The air becomes wonderfully fragrant.
Tip: Beyond the bloom season, you can still find products made from lavender (oils, soaps, dried flowers) in local shops year-round.
