Overview
Karlskrona is a unique and historically significant city located on the south coast of Sweden, in the region of Blekinge. Founded in 1680 as Sweden's main naval base, its layout and many of its magnificent buildings were meticulously designed and constructed to serve this purpose. Walk or cycle across the bridge to Stumholmen, a pretty island connected to the city center. Besides the Marinmuseum, it's home to the fascinating Old Dry Docks, historic naval buildings, and pleasant coastal paths.
Tip: The area around the old dry docks and the museum offers excellent views of the harbor and the cityscape.
