Overview
Carnival pays homage to the line's very first ship, 1972's TSS Mardi Gras, with the innovative Mardi Gras! Named for the original ship that took Carnival to the seas, Mardi Gras boasts the very first roller coaster at sea, named BOLT: Ultimate Sea Coaster. For the first time ever, Carnival guests can speed down a track at over 40 miles per hour, twisting and turning high above the sea, with turns extending over the side of Mardi Gras. But, if adrenaline isn't your thing, feel free to just kick back and relax on the pool deck - there are FIVE pools onboard Mardi Gras.
The delicious food that you will find on Mardi Gras at restaurants like Bonsai Teppenyaki, Cucina del Capitano, and Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse offers plenty of variety for even the pickiest eater in your family.

Mardi Gras
I traveled with my son and my grandson on the Mardi Gras this past week. It was the first cruise for my grandson (age 14) and he loved it! There was so much offered for him and he truly loved the teen club and making new friends. My son has not been on a cruise in more than 20 years so it was a grand surprise for him to see this beautiful ship and all it had to offer! We all enjoyed our meals and the dinners were delicious! The shows were professional and very entertaining! All three of our excursions were well worth the cost and so much fun! I would most certainly travel on this ship again.
Pros: Beautiful and modern ship with many amenities!
Cons: Chat feature on the hub was frequently not working. That was to be my method of contacting my teenage grandson.

Mardi Gras
This was a phenomenal vacation. 16 of us went together. There was never a dull moment. We ranged in age from 19 to 65 and there was fun had by everyone. The Limelight lounge was a favorite hang out for the young adults in our group. Motown night was definitely a favorite for us older folks. The staff was so attentive and friendly. The ship was so clean everywhere. The balcony rooms were spacious and all of the cabins had ample closet space. We would definitely do the Mardi Gras again. There is a reason that Carnival is known as the FUN ship. The food was a 7/10. That isn't bad compared to all the good. The high points food wise were Shaq's big chicken and Guy's Burgers.

Carnival always goes above and beyond our expectations. Our stateroom Stewart Komang was awesome.

Mardi Gras
Loved the Mardi Gras, went to see the sea lions on Nassau, went to MonkeyLand and the waterfalls in Amber Cove. Went to home sweet home in Grand Turk. The photos from the sea lions were amazing the experience was one of my favorites. Monkey land and the waterfalls in Amber Cove was super fun, the hike to the top of the waterfalls was tiring but worth it. Home sweet home in grand Turk was super clean and an amazing beach.
Pros: Big ship, Best excursion, good food, super clean

Mardi Gras
The overall experience was excellent..The servers in the dining hall were amazing and the food was great..I would highly recommend people cruise with Carnival and enjoy the perks of being on the Mardi Gras. THANK YOU CARNIVAL for an experience I will never forget.
Pros: A lot of things to do and the staff was very friendly.
