While it is not a cruise port, it stands as a renowned inland destination celebrated for its Roman roots, luxurious thermal baths, and sophisticated atmosphere. This town, which has long been a retreat for European aristocracy, combines a rich history with a world-class resort feel, offering a perfect blend of relaxation, culture, and nature.
A visit to Baden-Baden is a journey into a world of refined tranquility. Its wide boulevards, grand Belle Époque buildings, and lush parks create a beautiful backdrop for a day of relaxation and exploration. From indulging in the legendary thermal waters and trying your luck at one of Europe's most beautiful casinos to strolling along scenic avenues and exploring the pristine Black Forest, Baden-Baden offers a truly unique and rejuvenating experience.
The primary attraction here is its thermal baths. Choose between the modern Caracalla Spa, which offers a complex of indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, and steam rooms, or the historic Friedrichsbad Roman-Irish bath.
Tip: To unwind, set aside at least two to three hours to fully experience either of the thermal baths.
Visit the Casino, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful casinos in the world. Even if you don't gamble, its opulent interior is a sight. Guided tours are available in the mornings.
Tip: Check the requirements if you plan on visiting at night to gamble.
Take a walk down the Lichtentaler Allee, a two-mile park and promenade that winds along the banks of the Oos River. Lined with exotic trees, buildings, and ornate bridges, it's the place for a stroll.

Explore the charming, cobbled streets of the Old Town. Here, you'll find elegant squares, fountains, and many high-end boutiques and specialty shops. Don't miss the Stiftskirche (Collegiate Church), which dates back to the 15th century.
Tip: Many of the smaller streets are car-free.
For stunning panoramic views, the Rhine Valley, and the Black Forest, take the funicular railway up to the summit of Merkur Mountain. At the top, there's a viewing platform.
Tip: Clear days offer the best views, and the ride itself is a fun and scenic experience.
Visit the Festspielhaus the area, one of Europe's largest concert halls. If your schedule allows, consider attending a classical music concert or an opera performance in this stunning venue, which is known for its incredible acoustics.
Tip: Even if you can't attend a performance, the building's architecture is worth a look from the outside.
