Hop on a water taxi from the main pier to Klein Bonaire. This uninhabited island is a protected natural monument, offering pristine, quiet white-sand beaches and excellent snorkeling opportunities right off the shore.
Tip: Bring your own snacks, drinks, and sun protection, as there are no facilities on Klein Bonaire.
Stroll along Kaya Grandi, the main street, lined with colorful pastel-colored colonial buildings housing shops, boutiques, and cafes. Explore Plaza Wilhelmina, a lively square, and enjoy the pretty waterfront promenade, taking in views.

Take a scenic drive south to the Pekelmeer Flamingo Sanctuary, one of the few places in the world where Caribbean flamingos breed. Observe thousands of these elegant pink birds.
Tip: You cannot enter the sanctuary itself, but there are designated viewing areas.
Dedicate a significant portion of your day to Washington Slagbaai National Park, located in the northern part of Bonaire. This protected area offers rugged landscapes, diverse flora and fauna, hiking trails, secluded beaches, and sites.
Tip: Rent a sturdy vehicle (4x4 often recommended for some park roads) and bring plenty of water and snacks.
